Missing

was missing for the last few days and will be missing for a week or two more due to the lack of internet in the new place I'm in.

so there will be no activity in the mean time.

I'll leave you with this for now:

http://www.spurgeon.org/~phil/posters.htm

As with the news of Harry Potter being the new evangelistic tool, whats next?
Leprechauns, unicorns and the like should be reclaimed back for Christ?

or SHOULD WE NOT?

Shouldn't people's salvation be of the conviction of sin?

How would we then convince men that the Word of God is inspired God himself and not cooked-up by the Apostles, if we continue to use fantasies and myths and relating it to Christ?

The Truth of the Gospel will then just be made as a joke, a fallacy.
Are fairy tales needed to use to share Christ with others?

'...that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.'
1 Thessalonians 2:13

Isn't the power of the Word enough?

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrew 4:12

Perhaps, the contemporary churches now are so powerful and modern that the Word of God is useless, that the power of the Word or God is not working in these age and time.

For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18
Or is it your preference, tradition or culture that is more important than God?

'So, for the sake of your tradition, you have made void the word of God. You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: 'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; 9 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.'

Matt 15:6

I guess in this age of sin, men should not live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'
Matt 4:4

2 Timothy 2:8-9

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descended from David, as preached in my gospel, the gospel for which I am suffering and wearing fetters like a criminal. But the word of God is not fettered.

waterway..

The course of life had just presented another path in the paved road. It feels as though huge torrents of water just forces its way through paving the road that all debris will have to go and no life or anchor to hold on to. Where does the path end?

Is this another unfolding of the carpet?

Sometimes life goes so slow but hits like a truck when unexpected things happen.

“argh…!”

Aflame

I recently read a book by E.M Bounds and its just fantastic the way he describes the little details Christians should have. In one chapter he talked about having the desire for God,

The desire for God that stays far behind the devil and the world at the beginning of the day will never catch up.
It is the overwhelming desire which stirs and breaks all self-indulgent chains that does so.

Holiness energizing the soul - the whole man aflame with love, with desire for more faith, more prayer, more zeal, more consecration - that is the secret of power.

I don't mean to say that having an overwhelming desire for anything must bring an overpowering sense of change or a show of physical appearances; such as the way we act or speak. But I do know that if we are passionate about something, we do tend to show a degree of desire or passion no matter how little that degree is.
The more you talk about a matter close to your heart, the more effort or passion or desire will be placed in it, and it will definitely not be hidden.

away...

away with the mindless beats,
away with the inexpressable fears,
away with the thoughts that yearns,
away, away..

away away..
let me be..

to yearn and not fall,
to dream and not dwell,
to speak and not lie,
to be the same even as the heart dies...
