a jewel, elusive yet bright,
gentle and quiet it shines,
glowing softly in all circumstance.

Of Evening Past
an evening past,
of grains of sand,
and warmth.
an evening past,
of smiles
and lives entwined.
an evening past,
of glowing waters
'neath the bright moonlight.
an evening past,
of comfort,
and time stood still.
an evening past,
what's left of prints
in long forgotten sands.
an evening past,
will I ever be back again.

Clash of the Titans
Tuesday, 21st November 2007 is the day I will never forget.
Went to Stadium Malawati at about 5.30pm to watch the exhibition match. Well, we went there early hoping to get a glimpse of Nadal and Gasquet but sadly they arrived earlier than we did or they managed to sneak in unnoticed.
Managed to get the RM83 seat because everyone only knows who Federer is and not Nadal or Gasquet because.... the stadium was not packed while the Clash of the Times match has been booked for the past couple of months.
Well, THANK GOD. We managed to get GOOD seats (like I said the stadium was not packed.. haha) and we sat right at the front (RM300+ seat by the way) and guess what? We got the seat RIGHT at the entrance of the VIP lounge where they held the players!! yup! We saw Nadal and Gasquet up close coming in and out.
Nadal gave us a thumbs up when he saw our banner. Should have seen Jo's proud and beaming face. :)
The stadium's not bad actually but it's was slightly old.
that's me holding the banner, courtesy of my friend Joel (his artistic creativity), which means "Come on, Rafa"
Finally, we gave up waiting at the VIP entrance and went in. AND THANK GOD!! Got to see Nadal warming up. It was gooodd!!
Before the game, there was some cultural show and performance by some Malaysian boy band (i forgot the name), anyway, if you've watched it on tv you'd probably know and seen our banner.
thats Nadal
The match was a best of 3 sets.
It was a tight match between them, and Nadal showed off his skill in mastering the court, and yes, Nadal won.
There was a slight bump during the game however, the place where we sat was the best and then came a drunkard.
Let me show you his face:
a drunk. looked right into the camera because we shooed him(well I didn't dare do it but Jo did :)
This exhibition match was a way to show the world what Malaysia is, it is to promote Malaysia on its 50th year of independence.
The match was broadcasted to 50 different countries!!
In the midst of the last set, Mr. Drunkard starting yelling and shouting obsenities to the players, who came here to Malaysia to play a role in celebrating our independence, and disrupting the game.
WORST OF ALL, all this was broadcasted to 50 countries!
MOST WORST OF ALL, that drunkard was shouting there for nearly 45 minutes before he was taken off by the police.
The audience who sat near him informed the securities (and mind you, there were alot of security personels around) and they did nothing! They just let him be.
He was popping beers and yelling. Finally, we couldn't take it anymore and told the police. The police also took their time in chasing him off.
Note to you security workers and police officers out there. Do please perform your job titles.
It is very embarassing for us Malaysians to present this kind of view of Malaysia to the outside world and what more during our 50th independence where it marks a civilization that is united, prosperous and advance - not acts of barbaric-ness.
Once he was taken off, the whole stadium bursted into boo-s. Good for you Malaysians! But the players might think we are boo-ing them.
Well, despite the disruption, it was a really good match. Manage to see Nadal's acts of idiosyncrasies. ;) (those who watch his games will know what it is)

Meeting The Top Tennis Players in the World....
I didn't really post quite a good story on how I met them..
Well, let me begin from the first day. Monday the 19th 2007
We took the train plus a 15 minutes walk to Ritz Carlton.
It was the official hotel for the exhibition match between Nadal, Gasquet, Federer and Sampras.
For those of you who don't know who they are, Rafael Nadal is a Spaniard world number 2 tennis player while Richard Gasquet is a French and the world number 8.
Roger Federer is (if you still don't know who he is) the world Swiss number 1 tennis player while Pete Sampras is the former world number 1 hence the exhibition game between Nadal and Gasquet is called the "clash of the titans" and the match between Federer and Sampras - "clash of the times".
Well, we manage to meet up with them but it was like those scenes you see on the E! channel... "swoosh swoosh... third car! Third car!!" and everything was over in a blink of an eye. Felt like some paparazzi. Though it was really a LOONG wait, it was worth it.
Well, we manage to catch the last monorail but not the lrt so we had to take the cab, and here's a piece of advice for those who intend to go to the heart of Kuala Lumpur by train and also intend to stay there, oh let say, till VERY late... DON'T. or at least don't miss the last train because it will cause your wallet to burn.
not much photo to post up for the first day.. well for one thing, the camera, the adrenalines were all running.. haha..

waiting..
I went and did the most craziest/dunno-what-to-call-it-also thing I've ever done:
I waited for 6 and a half hours in Ritz Carlton Hotel for Rafael Nadal and Richard Gasquet.
First they said they're coming at 5pm. So went there bout 4.30pm then they said flight was delayed, and they'll arrive about 7pm. Then they said Nadal and Gasquet are having dinner with the Timbalan Perdana Menteri- Will arive at 9pm. Then, they said they're at Sungei Besi tol at 10.30pm. Managed to see them only at 11.15pm.
Gosh!! That was a long wait!!! Couldn't believe I waited so long for a tennis World #2 player Rafael Nadal and worls #8 player Richard Gasquet.
Should have just gone to KLIA and met up with them (ARGHH!!!)
They reached the hotel, they avoided the cameras. But managed to get a good view of them though the camera wasn't that fast. (will post up pictures later).
Oh by the way.. did I mention that I got Nadal's and Gasquet's signature's on my shirt?!!
will post that up too.. so wait for it.

i welcome me back...
Finally, the wait has ended- the wait for internet connectivity.
Its exam month, and much has happened. Not such of a significant event of that of a date but definitely change. A shift of wind, in degrees unknown.
Treading water is an art. One can perform it or not. It is skill, it is knowing abilities and limits.
Losing control or so it seems has never been comfortable, and it is harder and harder to know what is ahead, to prepare, to know beforehand.
Is the control being taken away due to the inability to take back control or is it a Creator saying "I demand of you allegiance and obedience rather than mere acceptance and belief."
The deal has been struck and it is time to honour it. Being still has never been any part of human nature except of when they are at prowl for a victim, for malice, work or play.
But stillness is necessary to see the things around you and take it in perspective. To be able to hear the stil small voice of God speaking in your spirit.
There are many things to thank God for- testimonies of His saints, His providence, His presence where He was and will be. Him in before and the after.
what will happen next, only God knows.. But He foresees the choice in liberty we make, which leads us in paths of the narrow or wide.
I don't worry over the future,
For I know what Jesus said;
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.
